The Secret Sauce Voted Best in Kansas City - Again

Kansas City, October 26, 2010 - The founders of The Secret Sauce Barbecue Company, based in Kansas City, could not be more thrilled with the results of the 31st Annual American Royal Barbecue Contest. They were awarded the first place prize to their Smokin Hot BBQ Sauce. This is not the first award for the company though; they took a top award at the same contest just one year ago for their line of all-natural, gluten free barbecue sauces.

The contest, held earlier this month, judged more than 200 sauces - ranging from tomato-based to specialty sauces. The Secret Sauce's "Smokin Hot" version was the 1st place award winner in the HOT barbecue category.

At the 2009 American Royal Barbecue Contest, The Secret Sauce Company was nothing more than a group of young entrepreneurs and barbecue connoisseur's sharing samples of their specialty barbecue sauce recipe to friends and family at a small private tent. As the night progressed, they optimistically joked about winning in their first year of competition, and what that would mean for them as a company.
